Hamptons Fine Art Fair Returns to Southampton, July 9-12, 2026,

Celebrating 20 Years of Art Fairs in The Hamptons

Southampton , NY — The Hamptons Fine Art Fair, featuring international modern & contemporary art, and produced by locally based ShowHamptons, returns to the Southampton Fairgrounds, Thursday, July 9 – Sunday, July 12, 2026. This marks Exec. Director Rick Friedman and his team’s 20th successful year of producing international art fairs in the Hamptons, beginning with pioneering the region’s original fair, ArtHamptons in 2006.

With over 10,000 expected guests over the 4 days, the fair has evolved into the largest cultural event in The Hamptons each summer. Its growth now showcases 140+ galleries from over 20 countries featuring 600+ artists. With robust sales and national press attention, HFAF has also emerged as the largest and most impactful summer art fair in the nation. Galleries from around the world will display in the spacious, side-by-side Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning Pavilions, which are designed for direct and easy guest flow.

Offering the East End’s widest & deepest selection of important primary & secondary market art, HFAF will display all mediums, ranging from paintings, works on paper, and photography, to prints, glassworks, ceramics, wood turning, and indoor & outdoor sculptures. The fair is held at the Southampton Fairgrounds in an architecturally distinctive 70,000 sq ft pavilion complex on 17 bucolic acres on the main road connecting the Hamptons (County Rd 39), just minutes from downtown bustling Southampton Village and its shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums.

What’s new in 2026

The fair’s timely theme this summer is to celebrate the “America 250”. The Thursday, July 9 afternoon VIP Opening Preview will present a birthday party to America in the VIP Lounge. The July 9 evening VIP Preview will ignite fashionistas with the chic Red, White and Blue Party, throughout the fair. The Opening Night Beneficiary is the Southampton Arts Center. Many of the gallery-featured exhibits this year will focus on paying tribute to and interpreting America’s heritage, flag, the Statue of Liberty, and art history.

Supporting this theme, HFAF will salute the Hamptons 1950s-70s art era that pioneered and championed the Abstract Expressionism art movement – considered by many art experts the nation’s greatest contribution to the art world. As such, the fair is producing a special exhibit, The Trailblazers of Hamptons Abstraction, showcasing works by several of the prominent pioneering artists of that 1950’s era. HFAF is producing a simultaneous museum show at the Nassau County Museum of Art, in Roslyn (March 21- July 12) as part of the museum’s 250 Years of Art on Long Island. Both exhibits are assembled from the private collection of show producer Rick Friedman and Cindy Lou Wakefield.

Another showcased theme will be The British are Coming, Again (this time not about taxation but stunning art). This is a fun and timely theme that presents an invited selection of top-tier contemporary UK galleries.

On Friday, July 10, from 4-6, will be the return of the trendy Young Collectors Party comprised of art-loving young members from leading NYC museums like The Whitney, Guggenheim, Frick, and Sotheby’s Institute.

Saturday, July 11, features the 4th Annual Hamptons Artists Hall of Fame inductees in the VIP Lounge as the fair recognizes and “rediscovers” past and current local artists.
Southampton Fairgrounds is located at 605 County Rd 39, in Southampton, NY
