Hamptons Fine Art Fair to Premiere Labor Day Weekend, 2021.

Both IRL and OVR Formats Offer Show Participants the Widest Range of Viewing and Acquiring Artworks Possible.

The 5-day Hamptons Fine Art Fair (HFAF) will be held September 2-6, 2021, (Labor Day weekend) which is traditionally the region’s apex weekend where its population swells to over 750,000 residents and visitors. It will be presented at the Southampton Art Center museum building and grounds in the heart of bustling Southampton village. As both an in-person fair as well as in 3D virtual reality, HFAF now extends it reach far beyond the tony villages on the East End of Long Island. The fair will benefit the Southampton Arts Center.

HFAF will present important 20th and 21 th century art. It will be limited to fewer than 50 select dealers. Created as an elite, boutique and upscale art fair for seasoned art enthusiasts, , listed prices for artworks will start at the  $10,000 level , and scale into the 7 figures.

The centrally located Southampton Arts Center on Jobs Lane (formally the Parrish Art Museum) will be momentously converted to an elegant art fair site, using both the entire historic building and its plush outdoor grounds. The fair will be augmented by two climate controlled structures, the de Kooning Pavilion and the Pollock Pavilion, paying tribute to the region’s most notable artists. Each Pavilion will present a display of original works by the respective artists. The Pollock Pavilion will be floored by a replica of the Jackson Pollock painted stained Barn floor, found at the Pollock Krasner House and Study Center, in the East Hampton Springs . Additionally, an abridged version of the traveling museum show of acclaimed 1950’s women artists, The Heroines of Abstract Expressionism, will be presented in the fair at the Southampton Arts Center. Helping to set the artistic tone, this display will include the artworks by women pioneering AbEx artists from NYC/ Hamptons—Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Grace Hartigan and Perle Fine.

From The Producer of ArtHamptons

HFAF is the brainchild of long time art fair producer (including the regions first, ArtHamptons) and Southampton resident, Rick Friedman. Says Friedman, “ with most local residents now vaccinated, there’s a pulsating pent up energy in attending fun cultural events, in person again. . It’s unprecedented to offer galleries an opportunity to show in this popular and esteemed museum building in the center of Southampton village during its peak weekend. This building and grounds have long been a magnet for the art cognoscenti, and HFAF is destined to be one of the summer’s must attend cultural events.”
