“The Highwaymen Collector“ is the leading dealer of Highwaymen Landscape Art.
Often hailed as “The Last Great American Art Movement of the 20th Century”, the group of 26 African American artists started painting in 1954.
Visual motifs featured wind-swept tropical landscapes, vibrant sunsets, churning oceans, and serene backcountry marshes.
Following their 2004 induction in Florida’s Artist Hall of Fame, the art has become nationally recognized with12 books published, a dedicated room in the Smithsonian, and release of a feature film.
2025 saw 4 major museum exhibitions. We have organized “Rodney Demps: Surrealist of the Highwaymen”, now on view at the Cornell Museum of Art in Delray, FL
